"Grevillea lavandulacea" is a low-growing shrub which is endemic to south-eastern South Australia and western and central Victoria. It grows up to between 0.2 and 1.5 metres in height.

The species was first formally described by botanist Diederich Franz Leonhard von Schlechtendal, his description published in "Linnaea" in 1847.

Two subspecies are currently recognised:
*"G. lavandulacea" subsp. "lavandulacea"
*"G. lavandulacea" subsp. "rogersii"
