television series which aired at 9:00 p.m. Monday on the FOX network in2003 .Pogrebin, Robin (October 19, 2003) [http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9507E4DB133FF93AA25753C1A9659C8B63&sec=&spon=&pagewanted=2 COVER STORY; Romeo and Juliet in a World Of Politics and Pornography (Page 2)] , "The New York Times ". Retrieved onJuly 18 ,2008 .] It followed the tale of two teenagers who came from feuding families. One, Adam (D.J. Cotrona ), is the son ofLos Angeles District Attorney Tom Roam (Kevin Anderson), and the other is Jewel (Olivia Wilde ), whose father, Larry Goldman (Ron Silver ), runs apornography company. The show was a modern-day take on theRomeo and Juliet story. Even after an incredible amount of advertising (Silver's line "His father is the district attorney!", featured in the promos, briefly became a catch-phrase), it was cancelled after only three episodes (of a total of nine episodes produced) due to poor ratings and less than favorable reviews.
