Andrew Rubin is a technology pioneer, co-founder and former CEO of both
Danger Inc. and Android. He is currently Director of Mobile Platforms atGoogle , where he is reported to be overseeing the development of Android, anopen-source operating system forsmartphone s.Andy Rubin attended
Horace Greeley High School inChappaqua, NY Fact|date=November 2007. Rubin started as anengineer atApple Inc. . He later worked at aspin-off General Magic , where he participated in developingMagic Cap , anoperating system and interface for hand-held devices. When Magic Cap failed, Rubin joined Artemis Research, founded bySteve Perlman , which becameWebTV and was eventually acquired byMicrosoft . After several years, Rubin left to foundDanger, Inc with Matt Hershenson and Joe Britt, which was later also acquired by Microsoft in February, 2008. Danger, Inc. is most notable for theDanger Hiptop (often branded as the T-Mobile Sidekick), which is a phone with PDA-like capabilities. Disillusionment with his ouster asCEO of Danger motivated him to found Android, which was later acquired by Google and led to Rubin's current position with the firm.Andy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science in 1986 from
