Rabak ( _ar. ربك‎) is a city in the east of Sudan. It is located at around coord|13|10|48|N|32|44|24|E.

Geography

The city is located on the eastern bank of the White Nile, approximately 260 km south of Khartoum and 340 km west of Ethipia. It lies 5 kilometers from the city of Kusti, which is situated on the other side of the river. Rabak lies some 362 meters above sea level.

Demographics

History

Rabak was made the capital of the White Nile state in 1994.

Economy

In the city there is a cement processing company called the Nile Cement Company, which produced in 2001 50,200 tons and in 2002 41,000 tons. There is also a calcite mine nearby.
