Andreas Nottebohm is an artist. He was born in
Eisenach ,Germany in1944 . From 1965 to 1969, he studied at theAcademy of Fine Arts inMunich under surrealist painterMac Zimmerman . In 1968, he studiedetching atJ. Friedlaender workshop inParis, France . Nottebohm first visited theUnited States for a one-man in 1978. After traveling throughout the United States for six months, he chose to make theSan Francisco Bay area his home.NASA has commissioned Nottebohm to create more than fifteen major works, including official paintings to commemorate the first launch of thespace shuttle Columbia in 1981. He has had over one hundred one-man shows in Europe and the United States and his work has been featured in museums and galleries around the world including the permanent collections of theCrocker Museum of Art inCalifornia ,Nevada Art Museum , andSmithsonian Institution s.External links
