Abdul Hameed Dogar (born 22 March 1944Fact|date=September 2008) is the Chief Justice of Pakistan, a position he was elevated to when he took oath on the Provisional Constitutional Order (PCO), following the controversial Proclamation of Emergency by President General Pervez Musharraf, on 3 November 2007.cite news

Dogar is one of the four judges who took oath under a PCO when the majority of the Supreme Court judges refused to take oath under the PCO.

Early life

Justice Dogar was born in the village of "Gaarhi Mori", in Khairpur district, Sindh province. He joined the judicial service on 10 April 1995 with an appointment to the Sindh High Court, and was elevated to the Supreme Court on 28 April 2000.Fact|date=September 2008

Justice Dogar was elevated to the position of Chief Justice of Pakistan on 3 November 2007 and he took an oath on the Provincial Constitution Order (PCO) written by General Pervez Musharraf, which replaced the Constitution.Fact|date=September 2008
