Security detail

A security detail more often known as a PSD, standing for Protective Services Detail, Personal Security Detachment, or Personal Security Detail is a protective team assigned to protect the personal security of an individual or group. PSDs can be made up of military or private security personnel.

U.S. Army

In the U.S. Army, an individual's security team is called a Protective Services Detail. Typically the detail is composed of U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command, Military Police, or other law enforcement personnel. U.S. Marine Corps

Private security

PSD teams are often made up of private security personnel. Organizations such as Blackwater Worldwide's Security division, DynCorp, and Triple Canopy, Inc. offer armed security teams to clients traveling in war zones.
