"Agatha" (1979) is a drama film, starring Vanessa Redgrave, Dustin Hoffman and Timothy Dalton. The film recounts a fictionalized version of the events surrounding the 1926 disappearance of mystery writer Agatha Christie. It was released in the United States on February 9 1979.

ynopsis

While the British nation is thrown into a frenzy of speculation about the disappearance of Agatha Christie (Redgrave), arrogant American journalist Wally Stanton (Hoffman) stumbles across her, quite by chance, in a shabby Harrogate hotel, where she has been staying under the name of her husband Archibald's (Dalton) mistress. As Wally steadily falls in love with the tormented crime writer, he uncovers a sinister plot involving suicide, murder and revenge which could easily rival one of her own stories...
