Dario Zuffi (born 7 December 1964 in Basel) is a Swiss football coach and former international player, who is currently a coach for FC Winterthur's U-21 team.

Playing career

Dario Zuffi first became famous when he was playing on BSC Young Boys. From the very start of his time on Young Boys, Zuffi showed his skills, helping Young Boys wins the Swiss Football Championship, scoring 15 goals. He received 'Rookie of the Year' in the 1985–86 season. In the 1988–89 season, Dario Zuffi was second on the Top Scorers list, scoring 19 goals, tied with Kubilay Türkyılmaz. In the 1990–91 season, Zuffi finally topped the Top Scorers list, scoring 17 goals that season.

Zuffi was then traded to FC Lugano in the 1992–93 season. In 1993, with Zuffi's help, the team won the Swiss Cup.

The next season, Dario Zuffi decided to move to the town of Oberwil and joined FC Basel. At that time, FC Basel was in the 2nd tier of the Swiss Football League. Zuffi was made captain of the squad and scored 11 goals helping FC Basel to be promoted to the Swiss Super League. He stayed with Basel until 1998.

In 1998, Zuffi went back to FC Winterthur that helped discover him. He played for two years till the year 2000 and retired from soccer.

Zuffi also received 19 caps for the Switzerland national football team.

Dario Zuffi works for FC Winterthur as their U-21 trainer.

Personal life

Zuffi has three sons with two of them currently playing in Winterthur, Sandro Zuffi and Luca Zuffi. His 3rd son is currently playing in Winterthur's U-15 team, Nico Zuffi.
