- USS Emerald (PYc-1)
USS "Emerald" (PYC-1), was a yacht built in
1922 as "Savitar" by theConsolidated Shipbuilding Company inMorris Heights, New York . She was acquired by theUS Navy on25 October 1940 and commissioned27 December 1940, with Lieutenant (junior grade) Robert W. Graham in command.After calling at
Norfolk, Virginia "Emerald" arrived atJacksonville, Florida ,13 February 1941 for patrol duty off theFlorida coast, and served as harbor entrance control station inSaint Johns River between December 1941 and March 1942. Her last service was as examination ship atKey West , and on31 May "Emerald" arrived atMiami , where she lay until decommissioned11 August 1942 . She was transferred to theMaritime Commission for disposal13 November 1945 .References
