- M.Mukundan
M. Mukundan is a prominent writer in the modernist period of
Malayalam literature. Born in 1943 at Mahe( A District inPuducherry and Former french colony). He started his writing career in the sixties, marking a clear departure from the prevalent writing style of fiction in Malayalam through his existentialist novels that heralded an era of creative anarchy in Kerala. He shifted his area of ativities toNew Delhi , where he joined the French Embassy as a staff in their cultural department. He retired from the Embassy as Joint Cultural attache.His Novel "Daivathinte Vikruthikal' ( [http://sify.com/samacharreligion/bookreviews/fullstory.php?id=13536356 God's Mischiefs) received The Award for best novel from the National Academy of Letters. Other awards include the Kerala Sahitya Academy Award, the M P Paul Award and NV Award for Daivathinte Vikruthikal. He was conferred the
Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres Award by the French Government in 1998 for his contributions in the field of literature.Among his renowned books are,
