Introduction
Located in Wyoming County, Tunkhannock Area High School lies in the valley of the Endless Mountains. From sports to in school activities, there is a variety of activities to keep the students busy. It is the largest school district in Susquehanna, Bradford, Wayne, Sullivan, and Wyoming Counties and holds in store academic, athletic, and cultural experiences. Approximately 9,000 students are housed in the high school from grades 9-12.
Academics
The Tunkhannock High School Curriculum allows students to take the appropriate class according to their learning level. General, Academic, Honors, and Advanced Placement on select courses are the choices the students and their parents can choose from to meet their needs. If a student takes Advanced Placement course, he/she can test out of college courses they will need post high school. The Tunkhannock High School Curriculum contains classes that apply to many post high school careers. It prepares its students for post high school education and Standardized Testing.Science DepartmentThe Tunkhannock High School Science Department offers a variety of science classes. Earth Science courses prepare freshmen by teaching them about the Earth and the materials that compose it. Biology courses teaches the sophomores about human and animal life, biodiversity, biological processes, and much more. Chemistry, Zoology, Anatomy and Physiology, Forestry and Wildlife, Plant Biology, Ecology, Astronomy, and Physics are also offered.
English DepartmentTunkhannock High School’s English Department offers several different courses that will prepare its students for the careers ahead of them. There are English I-IV courses offered every year of the students' high school career. Speech and Debate, Creative Writing, Journalism, Communications, Drama Theory, and Drama Methods are also offered
Mathematics DepartmentA variety of math courses are offered that will prepare students with an excellent mathematics foundation that will aid in any career. Algebra, Plane Geometry, Algebra II, Precalculus, Calculus, Probabilities and Statistics, Trigonometry, Fundamentals of Math, Pre-Algebra, and Math Enrichment are part of the mathematics curriculum.
Social Studies DepartmentWorld History, United States History, American Government, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, World War II, and Contemporary Issues are the social studies courses that are offered.

Music Program
The music program at Tunkhannock High School allows students to delve into the study and performance of music through instruments and singing. The band travels to Orlando, Florida annually to perform in The Gator Bowl. The Drama and Music Department works together to perform their annual fall and spring musicals. The Fall 2008 musical that will be performed in the school's auditorium is "Alice in Wonderland".The music program is highly respected and one of the best in surrounding counties.

School to Career Opportunities
This program is available to all students that would like to experience the work force while still in high school. Students may also work in or job shadow several a variety of careers to help them decide their future plans. Some of the opportunities that students may take part in are Cooperative Vocational Education, Internship Program, Job Shadowing Summer Tech Prep Co-op Program, Skills VSA/VICA, and Transitional Job Shadowing/Job Training.
Athletics
Tunkhannock High School offers the best quality sport programs. With excellent and experienced coaches, the teams practice and play to their highest potential. Football, Girls & Boys Soccer, Girls & Boys Volleyball, Girls & Boys Tennis, Girls & Boys Basketball, Lacrosse, Golf, Girls and Boys Swimming & Diving, and Field Hockey are offered.
