Leave Us Kids Alone

Leave Us Kids Alone

"Leave Us Kids Alone" is a TV series made by Twenty-Twenty Television and distributed by Outright Distribution. It involved 10 one-hour episodes (together with 7 half-hour "up close and personal" shows) and was originally shown on BBC Three in October 2007.

Description

The series involved 12 opinionated teens who were required to prove that they could successfully run a school without adult teachers. It was seen as a unique social experiment, as the group of twelve teenagers were expected to act as teachers. It was the kids' ultimate fantasy, but they have to work together as a team. They did everything from cooking and cleaning to managing a budget, as well as running the school timetable and teaching.

It was a tall order, as the teens lived under the same roof 24 hours a day. To stand any chance of pulling the experiment off, the teenagers had to survive all the struggle and pain that came with working as at team. Intense relationships were made and broken, leaders rose and fell, and in the midst of it all there were moments of real achievement and revelation. All the while they were being watched by a real school inspector who decided if they are achieving or not.

Despite three head teachers and two failed inspections, the teenagers pull it off eventually, and proved they are capable of running both their own lives and the school, at times with compelling maturity.

* Thomas Aston
* Bilal Ayonote
