Yeshiva Pri Eitz Chaim is a
Chareidi yeshiva based inJohannesburg ,South Africa . The Yeshiva was established in in 2004 to cater for post high-school students eager to further their studies inTorah ,Talmud and its commentaries as well as all areas of Rabbinical knowledge. The Yeshiva is currently being accommodated by theKollel Yad Shaul in Gardens, Johannesburg.The Yeshiva has already taught many young scholars guiding them in the delicate ways of correct understanding of all Torah learning. Some students came directly following high school, but the majority joined after first having studied in overseas yeshivas. Students range in age from eighteen to thirty-five. The student body has at present fourteen full-time students, and eight part-time students. The yeshiva has attracted a few overseas students from the “Ivy League” Yeshivas of
Israel and theUK .The
Rosh Yeshiva ,Rabbi Berel Eichestein, is a Torah scholar of world renown. American-born, he has lived in Israel for over forty years. He headed yeshivos in Jerusalem for over 20 years, and subsequently was a pulpit Rabbi in New York.Rabbi Adam Saffer is the Director and "Magid shiur" (lecturer) in the Yeshiva. Born in Johannesburg, where he completed his schooling, matriculating at
Yeshiva College of South Africa . He then studied at yeshivos andkollel im inJerusalem and in the U.S.A. for fifteen years.The Rosh Yeshiva delivers lectures to the public on a weekly basis in addition to his yeshiva duties. Similarly Rabbi Saffer gives weekly
shiur im to the wider public outside the yeshiva curriculum. There is a yeshiva residence where some students are accommodated. Meals are provided daily to the entire student body.ee also
