The name SilverWing was also used for an earlier motorcycle series including the GL500 and GL650. In 2001 Honda resurrected the Silver Wing brand, this time in the form of a 511 pound, 582 cc maxi-scooter. It is one of the most powerful scooters on the market, featuring a CVT transmission, and is popular for both commuting and longer distance touring.
