"Annie Oakley" is a 1935 biographical film about the life of Annie Oakley. It stars Barbara Stanwyck and Preston Foster.

Plot summary

An unknown Annie Oakley (Barbara Stanwyck) challenges Toby Walker (Preston Foster), the resident marksman of Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, to a contest. Attracted to the handsome sharpshooter and not wanting to embarrass him, Annie deliberately loses the match. However, her skill and beauty land her a job with the show. Under Toby's tutelage, Annie becomes a star attraction for Buffalo Bill (Moroni Olsen).

While Annie's fortunes rise, Toby's decline. When his eyesight is damaged in a brawl, he hides the injury, but ends up shooting Annie in the hand as a result. He is dismissed from the show. However, Annie cannot forget him and is finally reunited with him.
