History
1 FTS was formed on 1919-07-29 at Netheravon in Wiltshire, England, using biplanes such as Bristol F.2 Fighters.[ After operating from number of locations, the school moved to a permanent base at RAF Linton-on-Ouse, North Yorkshire, in autumn 1957,][ where it was equipped with Vampire T11 and Jet Provost jet powered training aircraft.]
Current role
