"SportsNation" is a syndicated sports talk radio show that is currently on the air with hosts John Seibel and Orestes Destrade broadcast on ESPN Radio from the ESPN Headquarters in Bristol, Connecticut. The show is heard Monday through Friday (Tuesday through Thursday during football season) from 4pm ET till 6:30pm ET, when the show is cut short for Pardon the Interruption. As of 2005 the show is heard on over 190 affiliates. The show generally does not air on ESPN Radio affiliates in the Eastern half of the United States due to its afternoon drive time timeslot. Stations usually prefer to run local programming in this time period. The "ESPN Radio SportsCenter" anchor for the most part is Jon Stashower.

History

The show began airing in June 2003 under its original name, "The SportsBrothers", with Erik Kuselias co- hosted with his brother Chris Kuselias, however Chris left the show in early 2005 to seek other opportunities. The show was then renamed "The SportsBash with Erik Kuselias" with Erik staying on as the lone host.

On January 15, 2007, Erik was replaced on an interim basis by John Seibel when ESPN named Erik the new host of "NASCAR Now" and so therefore the show was renamed, "The SportsBash with John Seibel". Kuselias has stated that he will continue to guest host ESPN Radio shows such as "Mike and Mike in the Morning", "The Herd with Colin Cowherd" and "The Mike Tirico Show".

In October 2007 the show was renamed yet again to its current title, which had been previously used for online polls and other interactive content run by ESPN. Orestes Destrade joined as co-host.

Design

"SportsNation" is a very fast-paced program that features guests ranging from analysts, writers, columists and even television stars. Weekly guests include Buster Olney, Barry Melrose, Len Pasquarelli and Rick Spielman.

egments (from when Kuselias was host)

*Rapid Fire is in the third hour of the show (usually the last segment of the show) when Erik lets callers fire back at him about all of the topics he's discussed and made his opinion known about on that day.
*High Road/ Low Road is the segment when he talks about all the teams or players that are on the high road and the ones that are on the low road.
*The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is a segment at the beginning of the show when Erik runs down all of the good, bad and ugly things in sports for that day.
*Football Nuggets is a daily segment during the football season when Erik delivers a stat that makes you turn your head.
