The Windows Pioneers are the seven individuals who received awards from
Microsoft in1994 in recognition of their contributions toMicrosoft Windows .Bill Gates presented each pioneer with an award.The seven Windows Pioneers were:
*Alan Cooper - Known as the father ofVisual Basic .
*Lyle Griffin - Created Micrografx Designer, the earliest graphics application for Windows.
*Joe Guthridge - Led development of Samna Amí, the first Windowsword processor , later renamedLotus Word Pro
*Ted Johnson - Led the development of PageMaker desktop publishing software. Co-founder ofVisio Corporation .
*Ian Koenig - Led the development of theReuters Terminal financial information software.
*Ray Ozzie - CreatedLotus Notes . Now Microsoft's Chief Software Architect.
*Charles Petzold - Author ofProgramming Windows series fromMicrosoft Press , as well as many other classic programming books for Microsoft.External links
