Polyclave

Polyclave is a currently little-used term for a "multi-access" or "interactive identification key". [Duke, J. A. 1969. On tropical tree seedlings. I. Seeds, seedlings, systems, and systematics. Annals of the Missouri Botanical Garden 56:125-229.] [Morse, L. E. 1971. Specimen identification and key construction with time-sharing computers. Taxon 20:269–82.] It was more frequently used in the past in reference to "card-identification-keys" (which were made from computer punch cards used to operate early computers. [Pankhurst, R. J. 1992. Practical Taxonomic Computing.]
