The company claims to be the inventor of this technology, although this claim is at odds with previous work done at Cambridge, Scripps Institute, and ExxonMobil. EMGS began providing services in 2001. The company has provided more than 200 surveys for 35 companies.
Main offices and research department are located in Trondheim, Norway. The company was listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange on March 30, 2007 though the company is controlled by Warburg Pincus (63%).
