Orri Vigfússon

Orri Vigfússon is an Icelandic entrepreneur and environmentalist. In 2004 Time Magazine named him a "European Hero".^[1] He was awarded the Goldman Environmental Prize in 2007 for his efforts on saving endangered species.^[2][3] His objective is to "restore the abundance of wild salmon that formerly existed on both sides of the North Atlantic".^[2]

Orri has in recent years lead development of sustainable salmon angling in the rivers of Vopnafjörður, Iceland.
