cities =Indian Lake, also known as "North Pond", is located in northern Worcester,
Massachusetts . Thewater is brownish in color with a transparency of only five feet. The mean and maximum depths are eight and fifteen feet respectively. The bottom is muck and rock. The shoreline is heavily developed with residentialdwellings and commercialbuilding s.Wildlife
The
fish population was most recently studied during a1996 summer survey. Elevenspecies were collected includingwhite perch ,yellow perch ,largemouth bass ,golden shiner , black crappies,bluegill s,pumpkinseed s,yellow bullhead ,brown bullhead ,carp andwhite sucker s.Northern pike were captured during other sampling efforts in1994 . The lake has been stocked with northern pike and tiger muskies on a fairly regular basis beginning in1981 .Boating
The north shore of Indian Lake is home to the Indian Lake Yacht Club. This club has been closed for several years. The public beach is owned by The Bancroft School and maintained by the Greendale YMCA. A YMCA sailing program is planned for next summer.
