Despot John Palaeologus

John Palaeologus was a Byzantine General who served under his brother, the Emperor Michael VIII Palaeologus.

In 1275 John Palaeologus led an attack on John the Bastard in Thessaly. [Norwich, John Julius. "Byzantium: The Decline and Fall". (New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1996) p. 238] He was defeated by John the Bastard at the Battle of Neopatras.
