As of the
census GR|2 of 2000, there were 1,122 people, 394 households, and 327 families residing in the community. Thepopulation density was 247.4 per square mile (95.4/km²). There were 420 housing units at an average density of 92.6/sq mi (35.7/km²). The racial makeup of the community was 93.67% White, 1.07% African American, 1.16% Native American, 0.27% Asian, 1.69% from other races, and 2.14% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.63% of the population.There were 394 households out of which 41.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.8% were married couples living together, 8.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 17.0% were non-families. 13.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.85 and the average family size was 3.09.
In the community the population was spread out with 29.3% under the age of 18, 7.6% from 18 to 24, 29.9% from 25 to 44, 25.1% from 45 to 64, and 8.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 105.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 99.2 males.
