ASCII Corporation to develop theMSX standard together withNEC executiveKazuya Watanabe . Today ASCII is the biggestmultimedia empire on the west side of the Pacific. Since 1986 Nishi has written fornewspaper s and authored a number ofbook s. He sat in severalcommittee s on behalf of theMinistry of Posts and Telecommunications and of theMinistry of International Trade and Industry , and he is presently a member of theCommittee for World Economy in the 21st Century .
