The 165th Military Police Company of the United States Army was located in Fischbach bei Dahn, formerly West Germany, was deactivated in the early 1990's. The unit was responsible for the security of non-conventional weapons equipment and infomation determined by the Department of Defense to be Vital to national security.
The 165th was the only unit in history to simultaneously receive the Presidential unit citation and meritorious unit service award for service above and beyond the call of duty. Several members in 1984 also received the Army Achievement medal one of the highest peace time awards.
