Omissions in the Gospel of Mark
- Omissions in the Gospel of Mark
The Gospel of Mark has interesting omissions, when compared with the other Gospels:
*Like the Gospel of John, but unlike Matthew and Luke, it has no stories about the Nativity or the childhood of Jesus.
*Unlike the other three gospels, it has no mention of the Samaritans.
*It has no Parables.
*The lament of Jesus over Jerusalem ("O Jerusalem... how often would I have gathered thee...") is found in Luke and Matthew, but not in Mark.
*Unlike the other three gospels, the Gospel of Mark (in its oldest and most authentic versions) has no account of the Resurrection of Jesus, and no post-Resurrection appearances.
