Zarek is a fictional character in the Marvel Universe.

Publication history

Zarek first appeared in "Marvel Super-Heroes" #12 (December 1967), and was created by Stan Lee and Gene Colan.

The character subsequently appears in "Captain Marvel" #1 (May 1968), #11-16 (March-September 1969), #34-41 (September 1974-November 1975), "Untold Legend of Captain Marvel" #1 (April 1997), and "Annihilation: Ronan" #3-4 (August-September 2006).

Zarek received an entry in the "Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe Master Edition" #9.

Fictional character biography

Zarek is the former Imperial Minister of the Kree Empire who conspired with Ronan the Accuser to overthrow the Supreme Intelligence. With the Lunatic Legion, he created the deadly Nitro, who would later be responsible for the death of the Kree traitor Captain Mar-Vell.
