David French is the Chief Executive [ [http://www.wfd.org/pages/standard.aspx?i_PageID=11221 Profile of French] ] of the Westminster Foundation for Democracy, a British Government funded charity set up to promote democratic institutions overseas. Born on 20 June 1947, educated at Sherborne School and Durham University French began his career at the National Council of Social Service before becoming head of policy at the RNID. In 1978 he was appointed Director of Services for the Church of England Children’s Society and in 1987 the same position at RELATE [ Formerly the National Marriage Guidance Council 1992,Debrett’s People of Today ISBN 1870520092] .
