Paul Crone

Paul Crone, one of the most familiar faces on Granada television for more than 20 years has raised more than a quarter of a million pounds for charity. TV appeals such as 'Up The Amazon' (2003) and 'Sound as a Pound' (2002) have made 'Croney' a popular personality amongst Granada television viewers, and the North West public.

In September 1997 he saved a local Bolton child's canoe from sinking in a canal. The boy, later believed to be Robert Kendal said this of his hero; "He's such a down to Earth guy. There's not many celebrities who would jump into a canal to save a stranger's canoe. He's the best!"
