Chuck Diebert has been an American chess life Master since 1987. He has won the Columbus, Ohio chess tournament eight times, and has been runner-up six times. His career high ranking was 2396. Chuck is now a coach who has coached countless Ohio state and national champions. He currently runs The Phoenix Chess Club and chess programs in Granville, RL Stephenson Elementary, Norwich Elementary, Barrington Elementary and St. Agatha.
Phoenix Chess Club
Chuck Diebert founded and runs the Phoenix Chess Club in Columbus Ohio. The Phoenix Chess Club has produced many state and national competitors.
Blackmar-Diebert Gambit
The Blackmar-Diebert is a variation of the Blackmar-Diemer Gambit named after Chuck Diebert. Chuck made and used a tactical new line in the opening to gain a 2396 rating. He also has a book published on his variation.
