Amannisa Khan

Amannisa Khan, (1526-1560) (Uyghur:ئاماننىسا خان) was the daughter of a forester. When she was thirteen years old Abdurashid Khan was out hunting, he heard her singing, and fell in love with her. He made her Queen of the Yarkand Khanate or Uyghurstan.

Amannisa Khan collated and preserved the Uyghur musical legacy, the Twelve Muqams. Amannisa Khan passed away at the age of 34 due to sickness. Her remains were buried in Royal Cemetery Park near Yarkand.
