Nandini Singh

Nandini Singh

Nandini (born 7 June 1952) is one of the topmost exponents of Jaipur Gharana Kathak. With a strangely brilliant luminosity, she has earned many laurels and has received numerous awards. A rooted person, coming from a tradition where art is considered a way of life, her tryst with classical dance and music is a natural inheritance and not something superimposed at a later stage in life artificially.

An outstanding dancer, a consummate artiste,Nandini Singh combines in presentation a fine balance of Nritta, Abhinay and Lyrical beauty. Kathak presented by her reflects the traits and techniques given by her illustrious Gurus

Illustrious Gurus

* Shri Hira Lal ji
* Shri Ganeshi Hira Lal ji
* Pt Sunder Prasad Ji
* Pt Durga Lal

Critics comment that “She is the very epitome of feminine grace and allure. There is poetry in her body.”

She has proven herself to be an excellent teacher and acquired a formidable reputation by being a Senior Guru at Kathak Kendra, and presently at Sri Ram Bhartiya Kala Kendra for more than 16 years.

Institute - VAASUKINATYASHALA

In her quest to awaken our younger generation to the splendour of classical music, grace of dance, rhythm aesthetics and other sensibilities, formulated a charitable organisation in 1996 named "Vaasuki Natyashala".
