San Diego Chamber Orchestra

The San Diego Chamber Orchestra, founded in 1984, is the premiere professional chamber orchestra of San Diego County. Donald Barra was the first Conductor and remained as Artistic Director and Conductor through the 2004-2005 season.

Jung-Ho Pak was announced the Artistic Director and Conductor in the 2006-2007 season bringing with him a fresh new vision for the Orchestra. The Orchestra provides extremely high-quality concerts for a diverse San Diego County with current venues in downtown San Diego, La Jolla, and in the north county at Rancho Santa Fe. The Orchestra presents a variety of concerts all around the county and frequently performs for local organizations and corporations for special events. The Orchestra also has an annual holiday tradition of performing Handel’s Messiah in beautiful churches and the California Center of the Performing Arts, Escondido.

The Orchestra’s performance of major classical repertoire and its seven internationally distributed recordings on the Naxos label have earned critical acclaim. The San Diego Chamber Orchestra is a cultural leader and unique classical music experience for the San Diego community.
