Gangubai Hangal ( _kn. ಗಂಗೂಬಾಯಿ ಹಾನಗಲ್) (born on March 5, 1913) is one of the greats of the Hindustani classical music. She is a vocalist and an exponent of the Kirana Gharana [ [http://www.hinduonnet.com/thehindu/mag/2005/03/27/stories/2005032700550100.htm Grand legend] "The Hindu", Mar 27, 2005.] . She learnt her music under the tutelage of Sawai Gandharva. Gangubai lives in the city of Hubli in Karnataka.
