Raymond Persinger

Raymond Persinger

Artist Raymond Persinger (1959) has created sculptures for many public and private collections including the City of Brea, California, Chapman University and the National Geographic Museum. His work has been selected by prominent curators such as Dr. Virginia Mecklenburg (curator Smithsonian), Peter Frank (LA art Critic, museum curator) and Michele Urton (curator LACMA)) for inclusion in exhibits.

In addition to his work as a fine artist, Raymond Persinger was recruited by Dinamation in 1986, where he created life-sized sculptures of dinosaurs and sea creatures for use in museum exhibits internationally. At Dinamation he held positions as project director and manager/art director of the sculpture department. He was credited for his claw structure theory in James Kirkland's abstract on the Utahraptor. He left Dinamation in 1996. Raymond Persinger also worked as a freelance artist for Disneyland’s Entertainment Arts.

Raymond Persinger is currently the sculpture program chair at the Laguna College of Art and Design (LCAD), a position he has held since 1995. LCAD’s sculpture program is considered to be one of the preeminent figurative sculpture programs in the United States.

While he is best known for his large-scale bronze sculptures, Raymond Persinger's current work, relief images in glass examining the spiritual connection between man and nature, has also achieved critical acknowledgment. In 2008, SIAS University, Henan Province, China, invited Raymond Persinger and four other international artists to come to their campus to participate in an International Sculpture Symposium. The finished sculpture created by Raymond Persinger, will be placed at the entrance of the SIAS campus sculpture garden.

Raymond Persinger is currently working on a [http://www.HolocaustMonument.org Holocaust Monument] project with poet and Holocaust survivor, Peter Fischl. This monument will be placed at several museum sites around the world.
