- Sizzler (Hot Lotto)
"For the restaurant chain, go to
Sizzler ."The Sizzler is an add-on feature that became part of the
Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL) gameHot Lotto onJanuary 3 ,2008 .Hot Lotto normally is $1 per game. However, activating the Sizzler doubles the cost of each game where the option is selected. Any non-jackpot prize won where the Sizzler is activated is tripled, similar to the PowerPlay option in
Powerball , where the multiplier varies. The largest prize that is available with the Sizzler option is $30,000 cash, by matching all five regular numbers, but not also the "Hot Ball ". (Matching all six numbers wins thejackpot ; such tickets where the Sizzler is activated are not affected.)Hot Lotto is played in 13 jurisdictions: Delaware, the District of Columbia, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota (where the option is called Triple Sizzler), Oklahoma, South Dakota, and West Virginia.
After the Hot Lotto option began, the
Sizzler restaurant chain announced plans to take MUSL to court over MUSL's use of the word "Sizzler" in the lottery game.
