Sargent Perry "Sadie" Houck (March, 1856 - May 26, 1919) was a right-handed
shortstop inMajor League Baseball for eight season for theBoston Red Caps (1879-1880),Providence Grays (1880),Detroit Wolverines (1881, 1883),Philadelphia Athletics (1884-1885),Baltimore Orioles (1886),Washington Nationals (1886), andNew York Metropolitans (1887). Houck had a career batting average of .250 with 666 hits in 2659 at bats.Houck was added to the "blacklist" at a 1881 National League Meeting barring him from playing for or against any NL team. He was reinstated in 1883.
