USS "Dandelion" (1862) was a steam

3 March 1863 site took part in an engagement between Union ships andFort McAllister , and on8 April she rescued the crew of "Keokuk" which sank offMorris Island nearCharleston, South Carolina . During 9 and10 July 1863 she towed intoFolly River , South Carolina, the boats of an expedition which captured Morris Island. She participated in the attacks onFort Wagner , South Carolina, on24 July and17 August , and from 7 to21 February 1864 accompanied an expedition upSt. John's River ,Florida .End-of-war decommissioning and sale
"Dandelion" sailed from Charleston
2 July 1865 and arrived at New York a week later. She was decommissioned there14 July 1865 , and sold15 August 1865 .References
