Ulèëlheuë

Ulèëlheuë

Ulèëlheuë was a town near Banda Aceh. Ulèëlheuë is made of two words. Ulèë means "head" and lheuë means little peninsula. Ulèëlheuë is indeed a coastal town sitting on the tip of Sumatra Island. This town was most popular during the reign of Achehnese Sulthans as a busy international seaport for spice trading. This town (now ex town) is located about 7 km west of Banda Aceh. Ulèëlheuë is now no longer in the map after the tsunami. It was completely flattened.
