At the 2006 census Edenhope had a population of 913.The township of Edenhope was established some years later than nearby Apsley, the Post Office opening on

The town sits on the shores of
Lake Wallace , which is home to abundantwaterbird s, and is a popular fishing and water sports destination. However due to Australia's on goingdrought Lake Wallace is now dry, and thus the waterbird population is near gone. On Lake Street in the grounds of the Secondary College, there is a cairn commemorating the first all-Aboriginal cricket team to go toEngland .Edenhope hosts a Gourmet Food Day each March and Henley on Lake Wallace is held on the second Saturday in February. The Edenhope races are also considered a memorable event, with many exciting activities exhibited throughout the day.
