SAO 49991 is a 9th magnitude star in the constellation Cygnus. It is a yellow giant star of the spectral type G8III, meaning it has a surface temperature of 5,000 to 6,000 Kelvin. It is therefore around the same temperature as our Sun, but larger and brighter. It can be found within one degree of the star Deneb. ["Autostar Suite Astronomer Edition". CD-ROM.
