Stephen Baysted is a British film music and computer game composer.

Education
Stephen Baysted gained BA (Hons.) and MMus degrees from the University of Southampton,[1] is listed in their successful alumni, and was a visiting research student in the Departments of Music and Philosophy at the Université de Rouen in France. Baysted was awarded a PhD in 2002 from Dartington College of Arts for a thesis entitled: From le cri de la nature to Pygmalion: a study of Jean-Jacques Rousseau's philosophy of music and aesthetic and reform of opera.[2] Before joining the University of Chichester in 2003, he was Head of Opera Studies at Rose Bruford College in Kent and worked with many of the leading opera companies and opera practitioners in the UK.[3]
Film, TV & Computer Game Composer
Baysted works professionally as a media composer in the games, film and television industries. He is Composer and Audio Director for Slightly Mad Studios Ltd. an International games development studio and has composed music scores and designed sound for a string of award winning computer games.[4] With Brett-Dempsey Music, Baysted has scored over thirty cinema, television and radio advertisements, including notable campaigns for Budweiser,[5] McDonalds and Pizza Hut.[6] Stephen is a member of Northpole Music, a film music production collective managed by Grammy award winning film music producer Steve McLaughlin and Hollywood Film Composer Ilan Eshkeri.[7] Baysted is represented by The Max Steiner Agency, Hollywood.[8]
