First Presbyterian Church is a church located at 602 Vermillion Street in downtown Hastings, Minnesota listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is significant for its Romanesque architecture. Architect Warren H. Hayes (1847-1899) was Minneapolis' leading designer of churches in the 19th century, having designed the Calvary Baptist Church, Fowler Methodist Episcopal Church, and Wesley Methodist Episcopal Church [cite web| title =Warren Howard Hayes| work =Heritage Preservation Commission| publisher =City of Minneapolis| url =http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/hpc/landmarks/Warren_Howard_Hayes.asp| accessdate =2007-10-12] as well as the Central Presbyterian Church in Saint Paul. The building is characterized by its massive quality, its thick walls, round arches, large towers, and decorative arcading.
