He has been a member ofFolketinget (the Danish national parliament) for the Conservative People's Party since 1984, and was Minister for the Environment fromDecember 18 1990 toJanuary 24 1993 as part of theCabinet of Poul Schlüter IV and Foreign Minister fromNovember 27 2001 as part of theCabinet of Anders Fogh Rasmussen I , II and III.Per Stig Møller is the son of the former Finance Minister

Per Stig Møller completed his
master's degree incomparative literature at theUniversity of Copenhagen in 1967, and was awarded a "dr.phil."
