John Hambrick (born February 12, 1940, Mabank, Texas) is a seven time Emmy Award - winning newscaster, reporter, actor, and voice over announcer from Beaumont, Texas. Hambrick has worked in markets such as WNBC New York City, KABC-TV, Los Angeles, CA, WTVJ and WCIX (now WFOR-TV) in Miami, as well as KRON-TV San Francisco.

Brief career sketch

On September 1967, with much local fanfare, young Hambrick made his Cleveland, Ohio, debut on ABC-TV affiliate WEWS-TV's "Channel 5 Eyewitness News" as co-presenter of the 6:00 and 11:00 p.m. newscasts. A full promotional advertisement was printed in the both "Cleveland Plain Dealer" and the "Cleveland Press" newspapers.

In 1970, the late Dorothy Fuldheim joined Hambrick as the 6 and 11 p.m. anchors, where they helped the station's news broadcast become the top news program in the local Nielsen Ratings until his departure in 1975.

Supporting actor roles

Hambrick is also registered with the Screen Actors Guild SAG, and has had supporting and/or bit parts in the movie "Telefon", the old 1950s TV series "Playhouse 90" and, most recently, the hit NBC-TV series "Friday Night Lights". In 1960, Hambrick appeared in one episode of the 1950s CBS-TV series "General Electric Theater".

Hambrick is the brother of retired newscaster Judd Hambrick, who also once worked in Cleveland (for WJW-TV and WKYC-TV respectively}, and business news journalist/presenter Mike Hambrick.
