Councillor for Holgate ward in the City of York (see [http://www.york.gov.uk/council/Wards/holgate/] ). Elected in 2007, his ward was the only Labour gain in the City of York (see [http://www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/elections2007/elections2007/display.var.1379593.0.hung_council_as_lib_dems_suffer.php] ).
