Varya Rajputs

Varya Rajputs

Varya Rajputs (also spelt "Waria, Baria, Warah") are a Suryavanshi Rajput tribe of Punjab. They are known in Pakistan as "Rana Rajput".

The Varyas claim to be descended from Raja Karan of the Mahabharata epic. ["Glossary of the Tribes and Castes of the Punjab and North West Frontier Province" by H.A. Rose, 1892, p65.]

The Majority of the tribe is settled in Jullundar, Patiala and Nabha, with some villages also in Lahore.
