Yury Gitman is a new media
artist andinventor . Most recently his work was exhibited at theBiennale of Electronic Arts in Perth,Australia , at the Isle de France inParis ,Ars Electronics inAustria , andEyebeam Atelier , among others, inNew York . He remains one of the first people to use theInternet in theNew York City Subway , by employing a network of his Magicbikes ("wireless bicycle hotspots").Noderunner , a wireless game he co-created about chasing down open WiFi nodes, was awarded the Ars Electronica Golden Nica for Net Vision in 2003. Yury co-founded and co-organizedSpectropolis , a wireless festival in conjunction with theLower Manhattan Cultural Council and theDowntown Alliance . He teaches as an adjunct professor at theParsons School of Design in the Design Technology MFA program. He received a Masters degree fromNew York University 's Interactive Telecommunication Program and a Bachelor of Science in Science, Technology, and Culture from theGeorgia Institute of Technology External links
